Mikey Jones (he/they) is a queer Appalachian poet and visual artist living in Seattle, Washington. Before moving to the Pacific Northwest in 2021, he grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina exploring forests full of rhododendrons.
Mikey is the co-editor of Grief Journeys: An Anthology of Grief from the Healing Center, was a finalist for the 2025 Patricia Cleary Miller Award for Poetry at New Letters Magazine, and has been nominated for Best of the Net & the Monarch Queer Literary Award. His poetry appears in Screen Door Review, Appalachian Review, Susurrus Magazine, Hood of Bone Review among others.
When Mikey isn't writing with a cat in their lap, you can find them tending to their abundant houseplants, wandering in the woods, or reading books that make them cry.
